What does it mean to visualize?

 We learned that this is something that reader’s do when they are reading. Basically, readers make pictures in their heads as they hear/or read the words in a story.  When you are reading to your child at home/telling them a story instead of showing them the pictures have them visualize it in their head.  You can even have them draw their own picture.
