- learned about what we need to do to get ready for whole-group instruction. We learned the signal for transitioning to the carpet and we practiced the procedure of how to sit quietly and attentively.
- the umbrella rule for kindergarten (be safe and be friendly). We will work on making classroom rules later this week.
- learned how to get puzzles, share puzzles with a friend, and how to put puzzles away when we are done.
- learned about four different types of math manipulatives. We learned how to make patterns, how to use our imagination and build, etc.
- learned the rules for the playground.
- learned how to put our lunch numbers in. How to get milk and lunch and how to put our trays away (stack like a puzzle).
- learned how to line up. We learned how to face the front, not touch the person in front or behind us, and not talk in line.
- learned the procedures for using pencils, crayons, and paper. We talked about how pencils are writing and crayons are for coloring.
- learned the bathroom signal. The procedures for going to the bathroom (lock door, flush, wash hands, two towels, trash).
- learned how to greet our friends during Morning Meeting.
- read lots of books.
- sang songs on the smartboard.
- talked about our favorite part of the day.
- learned the goodbye song.
