I would LOVE to have some parents come and listen to students read books during the day. The best time is 9:45-10:30 or 1:30 till end of day. I will work with your schedules though. Conferences
I will be sending a green sheet home with your child today. Please write down the date of your conference and return it to school on Monday, March 10th. I am booked solid both Monday and Thursday night from 3:00-7:30. We will not be doing conferences on Friday (it is a make-up snow day). Thanks!

Nancy Carlson Author Visit
Nancy encouraged the students to doodle a picture each day. She told them that it takes her about 6 months to write a book and get it perfect. She has written 65 books in her career. Check out her website at: http://nancycarlson.com/

I LOVE TO READ
Don't forget to send your PINK "I LOVE TO READ" month calendar to school on Thursday. We will be tallying up the results and the class that has the most minutes of reading will win a pizza party. I will also pick the top 3 readers in my class to go on stage and earn medals for reading the top minutes at home.

Sight Words/Reading
Please keep practicing sight words with your child every night. It makes a huge difference when they recognize those words by sight. Keep reading with them at home every night. They can read their book to you and you can read to them. We would like to be at a C/D reading level by the end of the year. This couldnt be possible without you guys helping them every night. Please let me know if you have questions or need anything. Thanks!
Fun Night Money
YEAH! We had 100% of families in our class send money in for fun night prizes. Our class has won a pizza party! I will send home a note of when the party will take place. Thanks so much for making this possible! I know the students will be SUPER excited. PARENTS ROCK!
