We have an early out coming up on Tuesday, April 5th.  We will be getting out at 12:05.  Please make sure your child knows where they need to go.  Thanks!

Check out the writing tab on our wiki...

We read a story in class today about a little girl named Patty going on vacation with her family.  Patty told us about all the things that she wanted to do and that they did on vacation.  After reading the story, we decided to write about where we would like to go on vacation.  The students responses are on our wiki.  The .pdf is tittled "Vacation Writing."  Check out where your child would like to go on their next vacation and what they plan on doing.

SOUPer Bowl Sports Family Night

SOUPer Bowl Family Night

Kindergarten families attended SOUPer Bowl Family Night on Monday, March 28th. Families had chicken noodle soup and cookies before heading off to their classrooms to make educational games to take home. Students made a sight word game in Mrs. Leach's class, addition and subtraction game in Ms. Rowland's class, and non-fiction animal trading cards in Mrs. Reed's class. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it! We had a great turn out!

SOUPer Bowl Sport's Night is on Monday (March 28th) at 5:00.  Chicken noodle soup will be served from 5:00-5:30 in the cafeteria.  We will then go upstairs to the kindergarten rooms to make a sight word game, addition game, and non-fiction animal playing cards.  Wear your jerseys and bring books from home to trade in for gently used books.  Hope to see everyone there!

Things I have learned in kindergarten project...

Students wrote about 2-3 things that they have learned so far in kindergarten. They then wrote it in a tulip and colored and cut them. Stop by and see them hanging in our hall.

Special Visitor

The kindergartners had quite the surprise when they showed up to school this morning. A leprechaun by the name of Lucky came into our room last night and trashed it. He left behind several messages and shamrock prints for us to follow and find the treasure he left behind.

Pictures from Grandma Joan's visit

Grandma Joan Visits

My grandmother (the students call her Grandma Joan) visited our classroom today. We have been writing my grandmother letters all year long. She has been sending us books, puzzles, pencils, etc. Today when she visited the students introduced themselves, sang her some of their favorite songs, read books to her, said the pledge of allegiance.

Dr. Seuss's Birthday

We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday tomorrow (March 2nd). Please remind your child to wear red and white.  Your child is more than welcome to bring in Dr. Seuss books from home to share (please write their name in the book).

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration is underway.  We will be hosting registration at Brookside on March 1st from 9-11am and also Thursday evening from 5-7pm.  We look forward to the new year and seeing your student in our school.  When you come to register, you will want to be sure you have an updated copy of your child's immunization records and birth certificate.  In addition, you will be asked to register in the school attendance area that you currently reside.  If there are changes, that information will be communicated sometime in May.
